Things to do in Cape Cod

Cape Cod has a huge number of sights and activities, which make for an exceedingly rewarding destination. There are a huge number of things to do in Cape Cod, some of which are more famous than the others.

The area does not look very big on the map, however, the Cape Cod area encompasses close to five hundred and fifty nine mi of coast line, and about fifteen towns lie in this region. There are so many beaches here, some of which are well isolated, and can be visited when you want some peace and quiet. Let us show you the best activities in the Cape Cod region.

My suggestions for things to do in Cape Cod . . .

Take a drive to the Outer Cape Region

The Cape Cod peninsula has a number of distinct regions into which it is separated. The Outer Cape contains places such as Eastham, Orleans (?), Wellfleet, Truro, Provincetown and more. The Massachusetts mainland is the farthest from the point and this region is extremely different when you compare it to the other regions in the state. The more in the east direction you go on Route 6, the more distinct landscapes start appearing. The sunrise and sunset is extremely beautiful in this region.

Visit the Cape Cod Canal

A man made attraction, the Cape Cod Canal, is a really beautiful strip of water that required extensive dredging of land, close to seven miles of land was dredged, cut and then sculpted for increased space for shipping cargo to circumvent the Cape Peninsula. The Cape Cod Bay and The Buzzard Bay waters merged. There are some exceedingly scenic locations in the canal. Having fun in the canal is one of the most fun things to do in Cape Cod.

Day Trips to Martha’s Vineyard

If you happen to be in the Falmouth area, a trip to Martha’s Vineyard would be in order. The island offers ferry service as well as buses throughout the island. Martha’s vineyard is a world apart from the Cape, you will feel transported to another world, filled with remote lighthouses, sand splits and assorted charms. The way of life is extremely on the easy going side. Take a visit to Oaks Bluff and Vineyard Haven, two shore side towns with a good number of activities. Edgar town, Aquinnah and Menemsha was also discovered.
